Monarch
Prospect Park, 2006-08-15
Today’s lepidopteran is one of the most common and most well-known, a Monarch. However it’s still one of the prettiest, and this has been an exceptional fall for Monarchs. Good days along the coast are seeing flights of 10,000 or more. This particualr individual was spotted a few weeks ago in Butterfly meadow on Lookout Hill in Prospect Park.
