Currently Not Reading
The Brooklyn Public Library allows unlimited renewals as long as no one requests a specific book. That means books tend to pile up in one’s living room since you never have time to read everything that’s worth reading. However, before moving to California next week I have to bring all these back. This is to remind myself what I still have to get to:

Consider Phlebas should go to the top of the fiction list, at least. And probably ahead of Kevin Smith.

I “read” both ‘Anansi Boys’ and ‘JPod’ as audio-books back when I commuted alone.
If you can get them from the library where you move (my library has them on CD) it’s *more* than worth it, particularly for ‘Anansi Boys’. The guy they got to narrate was absolutely fantastic, quite the actor, and he had quite a bit of fun with all the accents for all those crazy characters. Really brought the book alive. The ‘JPod’ narrator was good, but not as good… but he brought a perfect tone for the cheerful amorality of the book.

Second vote for Consider Phlebas. Ian Banks best book IMHO.

Funny. The one I actually picked up and started reading at dinner, and that I will probably finish before I leave, is Silent Bob Speaks. I promise I’ll get to Consider Phlebas, Anansi Boys, and JPod one of these days. :-)

I need to get “JPod” too, his other book Microserfs was great. :)
