Not Purple Sandpipers

Sanderling and Semipalmated Sandpiper
Three Sanderlings and a Semipalmated Sandpiper were acting like Purple Sandpipers, feeding on the rock jetties at Riis Park this past Saturday. They were surprisingly unskittish around people, as witnessed by these closeups.
