I saw the most bright red bird with black wings ever. it looked like a scarlet tanager. Is it possible, I live in Greenup Co. Kentucky and was really hoping it was native to the area. Very beautiful bird. I saw it on June 26, 2011.

10 mins ago the most brilliant orange bird with grey or black wings flew over where I live – my 1st thought was a tanager – was the size of mockingbird – smaller than a dove – larger than finch – smaller than a jay – about the size of an oriole – just average sized – the boldest brightest orange I have ever seen

Beautiful red bird with black wings. It’s color was vibrant and stood out, it stays by itself in a mesquite tree now only coming out in the late afternoon. Rockport Texas October 2,2014
