Moth Monday: Perizoma custodiata

Yes, it’s Tuesday; but I was on a plane and then pretty jet lagged yesterday. Anyway, today’s moth is one from my Salton Sea trip two weekends ago. These moths were common on every built up surface in every campground. Best guess is that this is Perizoma custodiata, Hodges# 7328.

There were a lot of interesting moths on this trip, though this was by far the most common one. The main thing I learned is that I really need to get a good flash unit for the macro pictures. Lighting was real problem for most of them. The MR14EX looks nice.
