The Colbert Report
Normally The Colbert Report comes on after my bedtime. I usually fall asleep either before or during The Daily Show. However apparently it’s repeated at various times the following day, and yesterday I happened to catch it on my JetBlue flight to San Jose.
This show is freaking hilarious!
It’s not just a funny TV show like The Daily Show (which itself is pretty good). It’s on the same level as Clerks or There’s Something About Mary. I was laughing out loud in the plane. I’m sure all the passengers watching ESPN or FOX News thought I was nuts. The only other time this happened was when I first saw Coupling on a Virgin Atlantic flight to London. But Coupling runs four to eight shows a season. The Colbert Report does four shows a week!
If you haven’t seen The Colbert Report yet, by all means check it out. It’s broadcast at 11:30 P.M. on Comedy Central, and repeated the next day at 1:30 A.M, 10:30 A.M., 2:30 P.M., and 8:30 P.M. It’s also available on iTunes and several video clips are on Comedy Central’s web site. (Windows Media only sadly) and BitTorrent has complete episodes. If you haven’t seen it yet, plop yourself down in front of the TV and watch. This is very possibly the single funniest series ever broadcast on American television.

I’m glad someone finally said it. It’s been nearly perfect since day one. The Colbert Report is a work of art.
